Hi Philo fam š¤
The purpose of this weeks letter is to share:
Whatās coming up soon
What Iām learning this week
And what Iām working on
I call it a āLetterā and not a ānewsletterā because Iām writing to YOU and not marketing cringy spammy advertisements.
Anything I share will always come from a heart centered space with pure intentions of educating and helping you.
As Iāve shared before, I am not a guru, Iām just some guy who is willing to share everything Iāve learned and am learning along the way.
I want to make sure to ONLY deliver VALUABLE information that can:
Inform you
Increase productivity
Reduce mental suffering
I donāt go too deep into the model of the week because Iām hosting a workshop this upcoming Tuesday, July 26th thatās all about it.
Please do me a HUGE favor and let me know if this is helpful or not by voting yes or no in the poll at the end of the letter.
Ok, letās get to it š¤
Whatās Coming Up
I always like to get to the gist right in the beginning, but, if you click the links below be sure to come back for the rest.
Content Batching, Collecting, Organizing, Distilling Workshop July 26th @ 11 am PST.
Somatic Breathwork (live) Online Session August 14th @ 12pm PST.
What Iām Learning This Week
Simplification and diversification.
But wait, that doesnāt make sense.
You said simplificationā¦doesnāt diversify mean more?
Let me explainā¦
We are overwhelmed with information and itās coming from so many different streams of input.
I spoke about one mental model that helps focus on results in a world of over stimulation in last weeks letter šHere's a Mental Model That 10x-ed My Results.
Iām reading up on methods of collecting, organizing, distilling, and expressing (distributing) information.
1ļøā£ Because I f****** love this subject
2ļøā£ Because it helps streamline systems and processes so that āI can save time and money in order to do more of what I love at scaleā š quote from @mattgottesman that I just canāt seem to shake š§ š¦
3ļøā£ Because it adds to the upcoming free workshop on July 26th
Iāve been researching different models such as the Hub & Spoke, Content Matrix, Content Webs, and more.
All of which inspired this model that Iām calling the C.O.D.E. model.
Collecting, Organizing, Distilling, Expressing
This model SIMPLIFIES the process and DIVERSIFIES the reach.
Itās the CODE to unlocking freakishly insane results off ONE piece of long form content.
Iām going to break this down in detail along with some other models with Matt during the free workshop.
What Iām Working On This Week
Final touches on the The SONā¢ candle company.
Prepping workflows for the free workshop.
Preparing for the live online breathwork session hosted by yours truly Aug. 14th
Somatic Breathwork - Upcoming Practitioner Trainings, refining team processes & S.O.P.ās and creating KPI dashboards.
Some of you may already know but for those of you who donāt.
I recently stepped back from a 12 year chapter of my life which was owning/operating a cannabis edible company in Arizona called Baked Bros.
Since then, Iāve joined Somatic Breathwork as Director of Business Development.
As well as launching an experiential candle company called The SONā¢, launching Q4 of this year.
A BIG thank you to all of those of have followed me along the journey of creating this on my instagram.
Your feedback has been tremendous and gravely influenced the creative direction.
Additionally, my good friend, brother in arms and mentor Matt Gottesman and I are working on making a space for a creator community.
Heās what youād consider an āOGā in the creator community space. If you have havenāt tuned into him yet I highly recommended doing so.
Weāve been waiting for this moment for a long time š„³
Which has finally come to fruition i.e the free monthly workshops where we literally GIVE away our templates, tools and processes for systemizing workflows.
If you havenāt been able to tell by now. Iām obsessed with creating workflows, studying mental models, frameworks and optimizing processes.
Choosing an niche makes you a commodity. Choosing an obsession makes you the only one. ~Justin Welsh~
But let it be known that this is a healthy obsession.
Now some of you may be thinking. Holy š© this guys does a lot!
And youāre right, I doā¦and I love it.
But the only way Iām able to not break under pressure is time-management (Iāll definitely share more in a later letter) and to prevent the building up of pressure in the first place.
I do this through healthy expressions such as walking, exercising, and breathwork practices.
Mental health is becoming more and more understood, but the treatments available still don't address the body's role in trauma and stress.
It's time to change that.
Trauma and stress affect our minds and bodies, so we need to treat them together, not independently.
This is the āpsyche and the somaā or youāve likely heard this referred to as the āmind-bodyā connection.
Somatic breathwork is a modality that addresses both the mind and body by starting with a bottom-up vs top-down approach.
This exercise uses rhythmic breathing to help you release trapped energy and emotions in the body. See an example š here.
Somatic Breathwork is a way to āexpress the pressureā ~Steven Jaggers~

In order to slow down and lessen the noise we need to first become aware of the thoughts, emotions, and sensations that are constantly running through our mind and body.
Once we are aware of this internal chatter, we can begin to let go of them one at a time.
Itās like watching clouds pass by in the sky; we can simply observe them without becoming attached to them.
This actually takes me back to Peru when I had undergone a Huachuma (San Pedro) ceremony.
My intention going into the ceremony was to be accepting of change.
After all, change is inevitable or whatās that saying?
āDeath, Change, Taxes are all guaranteedā.
At least you can defer the taxes š
I remember looking up at the rich blue sky and the clouds colliding into one another stretching and morphing in shape.
Did you or do you ever look at the clouds and make sense of the shapes?
I chuckled and thought to myself āthe clouds donāt question the nature of change, they are only and always accepting.
As we become more adept at letting go of our thoughts, we will find that it becomes easier and easier to remain in a state of stillness (the body will become still and the mind will become slow).
In this state, we will be more open and receptive to new ideas and experiences.
We may also find that we are able to access a deeper level of wisdom (a cardinal virtue) and understanding.
The next time you find yourself feeling overwhelmed or frazzled, take a few minutes to sit quietly and let go of your thoughts.
You may be surprised at how refreshed and calm you feel afterwards.
Have an amazing week ahead and I encourage you to see if you can make someones day just a little brighter today š

It's nothing short of a true honor. Jaggers, one of the founder has a great saying, and that is that we are not healers...we simple create safe space for your body heal itself. If you go to the doctor, the doctor does not heal you. No, they bandage you, stitch you, etc and your body heals on its own.
This letter was very helpful and so interesting! (the poll was closed, but I wanted to cast my vote regardless)
Congrats on the new journey you're on with Somatic Breathwork! I checked out some of the videos and it looks like amazing work that you guys are doing and teaching others to do. Wow! I'm looking forward to experiencing it someday in person.
I just bought a book you're probably familiar with, called The Body Keeps The Score. My oldest daughter is reading it, and I wanted to join her on the journey. I haven't even opened it up yet, but I'm excited to understand and work on healing anything that needs to be healed. I'm even more excited for her to be reading it as I know it's going to have an incredible impact just by reading some of what you were sharing in regards to our bodies holding the stress and traumas.
I do have one question. I was wondering if you could explain this sentence.
"Somatic breathwork is a modality that addresses both the mind and body by starting with a bottom-up vs top-down approach.
Thanks in advance!
