Hello Everyone!
Mid-week announcement for the upcoming online Somatic Breathwork session this Sunday August 14th @ 11am PST.
I’m going to share my wishes for you, my faith for healing humanity, and my personal and families story behind breathwork.
If you’re interested about Somatic Breathwork then please keep reading. If not, then no worries, just skip this and be on stand-by for Saturday’s Philo letter on How To Organize Chaos.
My Only Wish Is To Inspire You
While the word "inspiration" is often used to describe a sudden burst of creativity, its original meaning is more literal.
The Latin root of the word, inspirare, means "to breathe into."
Thus, to be inspired is to be infused with spirit - to be filled with the breath of life.
This concept is found in many religions and spiritual traditions.
For example, in Genesis 2:7, it is written that "then the Lord God formed man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living being."
In this story, and in many others like it, we see that breath is essential for life.
And just as our physical bodies need oxygen to live, so too do our spirits need inspiration.
When we are inspired, we are invigorated and renewed.
We may not always know where our next burst of creativity will come from, but by keeping our minds open and our hearts full, we can make sure that we are always ready to receive it.
Systems > Suffering
I watched my family suffer for so long and still do to this day due to lack of systems.
They’re stuck in their ways. And that’s ok, all I can do is offer help and if it’s wanted great.
If not, great. I still love them. But one thing is certain…and that is that I do NOT have to suffer and neither do you.
In 2018 I went to a plant medicine retreat in Costa Rice. My mother had gone as well. And it was here that I was introduced to breathwork.
For me, the experience was incredibly blissful. Mind altering to say the least, all while being fully aware and fully grounded in my body.
For my mom, it was life changing…during the session she was visited by her father through a vision.
Mind you, she had not seen or even dreamed of her father (my grandfather) in more than 20 years.
The healing that had occurred for her in less than a one hour session would go on to break her addictions and heal generational trauma.
This BLEW my mind and this is also when I realized this place had figured out a system that didn’t involve plant medicines in order to have a “cathartic” release, if you will.
Fast forward 3 years I met Steven Jaggers.
We immediately became best friends and he was the ONLY other person I had come across who was as passionate about breathwork as I was. Likely due to same upbringing…children with parents of addition and for me verbal and physical abuse…
He went on to create a practice called Somatic Breathwork.
Which I soon became certified in followed by a plethora of Psychologist, Doctors, Naturopaths, Bodyworkers, Trauma Coaches and more.
The company now has now serviced 1000’s of people and has over 350+ practitioners world wide and growing.
Processes = Predictability and why I vow to provide for you all:
Systems for productivity.
Systems for saving time.
Systems for saving money.
And at the root of this all, systems for reducing mental suffering.
That’s just what Somatic Breathwork is. It is a system to help alleviate mental & physical suffering.
By getting out of the mind and into the body.
Somatic Breathwork is a practice that helps release stagnant emotions and trauma from the body.
This practice involves mindful diaphragmatic breathing and guiding the breath into different parts of the body, specifically, deep into the belly.
This allows you to access and move emotions that may be held in the body.
It can be used as a tool for self-care, stress relief, and emotional release.
It can also be used as a tool for deepening one's connection to the body and increasing self-awareness.
This is an effective way to release emotions and trauma from the body, providing individuals with a tool for self-care, stress relief, and emotional release.
While, yes, this practice can be done in-person or online. Online offer the comfort of your own home. All you need is a pair of headphone, a comfortable place to lay down, and no distractions for approximately one hour.
If you feel called to join for a live online session I invite you to join me August 14th @ 11am PST.
